After 50 years as ITVA/MCA-I, this storied organization has closed its National Office. Many talented and influential media professionals throughout the Atlanta market have been members. Since its inception as the old ITVA, tens of thousands of people were brought together for fellowship, networking, professional education and inspiration to be the best in a highly competitive and ever-changing industry. MCA-I might be gone but will be fondly remembered. It may be a melancholy day for MCA-I, but that will not stop us from having some fun and reminisces with old friends and telling new stories or re-telling old ones!!

We will have bar snacks and wings for your enjoyment, as well as iced tea. There will be a “cash bar” for members desiring an adult beverage or other libations. No smoking is permitted. There is free parking at Manuel’s offers free parking and their staff can direct you to the room we have reserved for our Get-Together.

PLEASE RSVP NO LATER THAN Monday, Oct. 21, so we can get an accurate head-count for food & beverage! We hope you will make every effort to attend. It will be wonderful to see everyone again! Many Thanks to all of those that have done so much over the years in making MCA-I such a wonderful organization!

Next MCA-I Atlanta meeting at TUFF TV

The next MCA-I meeting takes place on Thursday, August 18 from 6:00 – 8:15 PM at TUFF TV. Our hosts will be Lou Seals, CEO of TUFF TV and Chris Hannaford, Executive VP, Programming & Development.To view the Evite and RSVP, click here.

TUFF TV is a national distributor of sports, entertainment and home improvement programming, with an emphasis on many niche programs appealing to a very diverse audience.

Potential discussion topics include: What makes TUFF TV stand out in the programming landscape; How to acquire rights for the events you program; Challenges faced by TUFF TV inbuilding the company and distributing material.

We will have a presentation by TUFF TV, a Q&A session & a tour of their facilities they share at the Georgia Public Broadcasting building in Midtown will follow their presentation. Parking is available in the parking deck at the end of the driveway of the GPB entrance. Go to main lobby to gain building entrance.

    Our guest speaker will be Bob Giordano, Film/TV Coordinator for the Fulton County Dept. of External Affairs.

    Bob is responsible for coordinating film & television productions taking place in Fulton County. He also serves as liaison between production companies and county facilities and venues.

    Bob worked for many years at WSB-TV, has over 30 years of production experience, and is a great resource for production in Fulton County.

    Suggested topics: Role of External Affairs Dept.; Production activities & permits needed for Fulton Co. venues; Costs for use of venues, what is available and how to reserve/utilize these venues

    After Bob's presentation, Encyclomedia will offer a brief presentation and a tour of their facilities.
